UncovAI is proud to be part of the groundbreaking Provenancefortrust initiative, supported by the Ministère de la Culture. At its core, this collective is committed to one mission: strengthening digital content provenance through transparency, authenticity, and verified traceability.
Why Digital Content Provenance Matters
Today’s information ecosystem is under unprecedented pressure:
- The rise of misinformation and AI-generated content blurs the line between true and false.
- Detection tools remain imperfect, while moderation often lacks nuance.
- The sheer volume of synthetic media overwhelms traditional verification methods.
This is why digital content provenance is essential: it allows journalists, publishers, and audiences to verify authenticity at the source.
Our Response: Provenancefortrust
Together with TrustMyContent, the Journalism Trust Initiative (RSF), CEPIC, L’Atelier, and the medialab Sciences Po, we are building the first large-scale innovation program for the media and press sector focused on authenticity and content provenance.
This initiative addresses six key challenges:
- Authenticity – Creating an end-to-end chain of trust for digital content.
- Copyright – Reinforcing provenance and protecting creators’ rights.
- Certification & Labelling – Promoting transparent processes through standards like RSF’s Journalism Trust Initiative.
- AI Transparency – Clearly signaling AI usage in line with the EU AI Act.
- Typosquatting – Defending against identity and content hijacking.
- Anti-scraping – Protecting original content from misuse on AI-driven platforms.
